Police make number of arrests in connection with the murder of Robyn Mercer in West Molesey

Teams of Surrey Police officers executed warrants at four addresses in North Surrey as part of the investigation into the murder of 50-year-old Robyn Mercer.

As a result of the activity four people were arrested and remain in police custody:

A 26-year-old man from West Molesey has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle and murder. He was also arrested on conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

A 20-year-old woman from Oxshott has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.


A 44-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The body of the mother-of-two was discovered outside a house in Walton Road, West Molesey on Monday 14 March and the investigation into her murder continues. A post mortem revealed that she died as a result of multiple blows to the head.

This week's activity aims to collect and build on intelligence to support the enquiries to bring those responsible for Robyn?s murder to justice.

"A family has been left devastated as a result of the attack on their loved one. I am convinced someone knows who was responsible and I would ask them to consider the grief that her relatives are facing and share anything which might help the investigation."

The day of action saw specialist officers working together to ensure any information or witnesses who have yet to come forward are identified.

House to house enquiries continue as detectives work to establish as many facts as possible to assist the investigation.

If you witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or saw a vehicle in the vicinity of Walton Road between 8.00pm on Sunday 13 March and 8.00am on Monday 14 March or have any other information please call Surrey Police on 101 quoting Operation Zebu.

UPDATE: Three people who were arrested Thursday 12 May) in connection with the murder of 50-year-old Robyn Mercer from West Molesey have been bailed pending further enquiries.

The man and two women were arrested after teams of Surrey Police officers executed warrants at four addresses in North Surrey as part of the ongoing investigation.

One 26-year-old man from West Molesey who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle and murder and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice has been bailed until Tuesday 28 June.

A 44-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman, both from Oxshott, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and have also been bailed until Tuesday 28 June.

A 26-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle and murder remains in custody.

The investigation into the murder of Robyn Mercer continues.
