Esher Church School 2011 10k / Fun Run

Beautiful blue skies set the scene for the 2011 Esher Church School 10K Race and Fun Run, inspiring the runners to record much faster times than a year ago.

Anthony Jackson of the Stragglers' Running Club won the men's race in a time of 34 minutes 17 seconds. Helen Furze from Striders of Croydon was first across the line in the women's race, recording a time of 40 minutes 35 seconds.

In the Run, last year's winner Harry Bathurst was first again for the boys with a time of 16 minutes 54 seconds. Following her win in 2010, Claudia Pattison was the fastest girl again crossing the finishing line in 18 minutes 24 seconds.

This annual event has become an extremely popular bank holiday event attracting runners from around the southeast.  The course takes the competitors off road for much of the distance, weaving them through woods and parks and finally back uphill to the finish line.

Congratulations to everyone who took part.
