ParalympicsGB named as nominated national charity by Ascot Charitable Trust

ParalympicsGB have been named as the nominated national charity for the Ascot Charity Ball 2010.

The Ascot Charitable Trust runs the event, which will take place at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 1 May.

Phil Lane, CEO of ParalympicsGB, is delighted with the support from the Ascot Charitable Trust. He said: “We are honoured to have been chosen as the primary charity beneficiary for this special event.

“This extra support means that we can help our athletes to achieve their lifetime’s best performances in time for London 2012 and really make an impact on the face of disability sport in Great Britain.”

In Beijing the British Paralympic team finished in second position winning 102 medals – 42 gold, 29 silver and 31 bronze. With the support of dedicated fundraisers like the Ascot Charitable Trust, ParalympicsGB can help to support future talent, raise awareness and increase participation in disability sport.
