Man pleads not guilty to "Walton Bridge" murder


Mark Malone: On trial for murder

Unemployed Mark Malone, aged 29, from Walton-on-Thames, pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to the murder of 50-year-old Peter Jeffrey. Akers was attacked in the public toilets in Walton Lane, just off Walton Bridge, on 19 February. He died from a single stab wound to the back. The weapon used was a large carving knife which was recovered from the scene. The trial date has been set for 20 October 2008.
