The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Mayor’s Charity Ball on Saturday
13 March is to be a royal occasion with the news that HRH The Duke of Edinburgh
has kindly agreed to be the guest of honour.
Mayor Councillor Jesse Grey said: “I am absolutely thrilled that The Duke has
accepted my invitation to attend. The ball already promised to be a highlight of
my year of office but this news is the icing on the cake. I feel sure that The
Duke and indeed everyone attending will be delighted with the evening’s
programme and that we will raise a considerable amount for the five charities to
benefit from the proceeds of the evening.”
Half of the ball’s proceeds will be donated to the Bobby Moore Fund for
Cancer Research and the remaining 50% will be shared between Thames Valley
Hospicecare, WAMDSAD, the Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust and Help for
Heroes.
The Mayor added: “We are working very hard to ensure that everyone attending
the ball will have a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable evening.”
