Midweek music from the Choir of Royal Holloway

 

Delightful 30-minute concerts are held each Wednesday lunchtime in the Chapel of Royal Holloway during the academic term.

The Choir of Royal Holloway is considered one of the finest mixed-voice collegiate choirs in the country. The 24 choral scholars that constitute the College's Chapel Choir undertake a busy schedule of services, concerts and tours and record exclusively for Hyperion Records.

The lunchtime performances are free of charge and informal, allowing people to come and go as their schedule allows.

A number of parking spaces are reserved on the campus for outside visitors attending these concerts.

Jazz at St George’s

Jake Fryer: Coming to Esher in February

Jake Fryer and his quartet - sax, piano, bass and drums - will be performing in Esher next month, playing classic swinging standards from Cole Porter to Gershwin.

Jake has performed at Ronnie Scotts as part of the Brit Fest, celebrating the clubs golden anniversary with the group The LJC.

As well as playing lead alto with the Four Tops he has played with Malene Mortensen at Soho’s Pizza Express Jazz Club for the London Jazz Festival. He has also headlined at the Ducdes Lombards Jazz Club in Paris and FCCJ Club in Tokyo amongst others.

His group are featured in the BBC funded feature film ‘Nativity’ starring Alan Carr, Martin Freeman and Ricky Tomlinson.

Tickets for the Esher event are £10 and include tea and cake.
