Land Registry reveals latest house price data

The latest data from Land Registry’s flagship House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 1.9 per cent which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £160,780. The monthly change from October to November is an increase of 0.3 per cent. In Windsor and Maidenhead prices increased by 1 per cent from October to November and there was an annual price increase of 2.8 per cent taking the average property value to £334,697. Average property values in Surrey are £296,886. House prices remained static from October to November and there was an annual decrease of 0.6 per cent. Average house prices in Bracknell Forest are now £210,734. Prices rose 0.2 per cent from October to November but dropped 1.4 per cent annually.

Lloyds TSB names the most costly addresses in England & Wales

With an average price of £3,108,000, Leys Road in Oxshott is the most expensive street outside of London according to latest research from Lloyds TSB.

Other expensive streets named in the study include Moles Hill in Oxshott (£2,608,000), Nuns Walk in Virginia Water (£2,574,000), Eaton Park in Cobham (£2,393,000) and Esher Park Avenue in Esher (£2,160,000).

There was also a mention for Hancocks Mount in Ascot (£1,699,000) and Monks Walk in Ascot (£1,642,000).

Suren Thiru, Economist at Lloyds TSB, said: “Outside London, the areas with the most expensive streets are generally located well away from central areas, where buyers are typically attracted by larger properties and more green space.”

Campden Hill Square in London’s Holland Park is named as Britain’s most expensive residential street with an average price of £4,863,000.

Brundenell Avenue in Sandbanks in Dorset has an average house price of £2,024,000 and is the most expensive street outside London and the South East.

All prices are based on transactions between January 2007 and October 2011 recorded on the Land Registry database for transactions in England and Wales.
