King Richard III Lecture
What: Dr Turi King, who led the international research team involved in the DNA identification work of the remains of Richard III, will host a lecture all about the discovery and its subsequent impacts.
Why: Turi, lecturer in Genetics and Archaeology at Leicester University, was instrumental in confirming the skeleton was that of Richard III via a fascinating identification process involving DNA sampling and carbon dating. The lecture promises fascinating behind the scenes insight into the amazing story of the king who died at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

Play Tennis For Free At Ascot Tennis Club
What: Inspired to play Tennis, but not sure if it’s for you? Or you’ve played before and would like to take the sport up again? The Royal Ascot Tennis Club is holding a Play Tennis For Free Day on Sunday 26 April, on their four floodlit courts. Go along and try the Tennis Club. Open to all ages, and all standards from the most expert of players to very beginners keen to play.
Why: The Royal Ascot Tennis club (www.royalascottennis.com) is a year round club at Ascot Wood. The club has teams at all levels in the Berkshire summer and winter leagues, and have club sessions three times a week through the year. There is coaching at all levels and for all ages, and fun tournaments through the summer.
